Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to and use of Markfolio. By creating an account or purchasing a subscription you agree to them in full. Last updated: 30 July 2026.
1. The service
Markfolio is a software-as-a-service platform that helps self-publishing authors research markets, plan books, generate metadata and produce print-ready files for Amazon KDP. It is a set of tools; it does not write, publish or sell your book for you, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Amazon.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information when registering. Accounts are personal and may not be shared between people or organisations. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and must tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe on a monthly or annual cycle and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply in your country. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice; the price of your current period never changes. If a payment fails we may suspend access until it is settled.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time and your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are covered separately in our Refunds & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5. Your content
Manuscripts, covers, metadata and any other material you upload remain entirely yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store and process that material in order to provide the service — for example, sending an excerpt to an AI provider to generate a description. We do not use your content to train models and we do not sell it.
6. AI-generated output
Parts of Markfolio generate text and images using third-party AI models. Output is produced automatically, may be inaccurate, and may resemble output generated for other users. You are responsible for reviewing, editing and fact-checking anything before you publish it, and for ensuring it complies with Amazon KDP's content guidelines and applicable law — including any obligation to disclose AI-assisted content.
7. Market data and estimates
Sales ranks, revenue figures, keyword volumes, competition scores and similar metrics are estimates derived from public sources and statistical models. They are provided for research purposes only. They are not guarantees of sales, ranking or income, and no part of the service constitutes financial or legal advice.
8. Acceptable use
You may not resell or redistribute the service, scrape or bulk-export our data, attempt to bypass plan limits or security controls, use the platform to produce content that infringes third-party rights, or use it in any way that breaches Amazon's terms. We may suspend accounts that do.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Markfolio available but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn as the product evolves; where a change materially reduces what your paid plan includes, we will give you notice and you may cancel for a pro-rated refund of the unused period.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost rankings or loss of data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible. On termination you can export your data for 30 days, after which it may be deleted.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
